IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center

AARP Tax-Aide Services (PDF)
AARP Tax-Aides provide free income tax assistance for all low and middle income taxpayers, with special attention to seniors, during tax season. Tax-Aides offer free and confidential income tax counseling and tax return preparation services for individuals filing basic income tax forms.

Tax Counseling for the Elderly program
Provides free income tax assistance for all low and middle income taxpayers, with special attention to seniors, during tax season (usually February through April 15th). Tax-Aides offer free and confidential income tax counseling and tax return preparation services for individuals filing basic income tax forms.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program
Offers free tax help to people who generally make $52,000 or less, persons with disabilities, the elderly and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns.

Earn It! Keep It! Save It!
Provides free tax preparation service as a tool to help Bay Area residents become financially stable. The program is part of United Way of the Bay Area’s strategic initiative to cut local poverty in half by 2020.
