Shin Kubota is a professor at Kyoto University's Seto Marine Biological Laboratory and the preeminent scientist studying the "immortal jellyfish," Turritopsis Dohrnii.

This species regenerates and rejuvenates in a process similar to how stem cells work, but backward.

Dr. Kubota has succeeded in making one jellyfish rejuvenate an incredible 12 times in the lab.

He is in the Bay Area for a short while to discuss his research with the Buck Institute, the Romberg Center, and other research scientists.
