Mary Ellen Hannilbal is a long-time journalist and award winning writer who set out to become a citizen scientist and searched for and investigated what is happening in our world of nature.

Her most recent book , Citizen Scientist: Searching for Heroes and Hope in an Age of Extinction, was named one of 2016's best non-fiction books by the SF Chronicle.

This, her latest book, is a memoir and call to arms to help save our planet. She is currently a Stanford media fellow and recent Ted speaker.
