Nancy Boas is an author and art historian who specializes in twentieth-century Northern California art. Boas has lectured at museums, galleries, and art schools in London, New York, New Haven, and the San Francisco Bay Area. She served as adjunct curator of American Paintings at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Boas is the author of The Society of Six: California Colorists.
Her illustrated lecture will bring to life her book's account of Selden Connor Gile, one of Belvedere's most influential artists and leader of the Society of Six-- a group of painters that brought modernism to northern California.
