On Wednesday mornings the Founders Room in the Library fills up with dozens of toddlers, preschoolers, parents and caregivers to learn Spanish in books, song, dance, and the spoken word. Similar storytimes and programs are presented in Mandarin, French, Italian, German, and of course, English, for adults as well as children.

In any given week, the Library offers programs geared toward seniors, adults, teens, and school-aged children as well as the little ones.

What is the commonality among this assortment of activities and presentations? People of every age, sex, origin, background, economic and educational level are welcomed in this community-focused space.

The Library staff strongly supports the American Library Association’s (ALA) core values, including equal and equitable access to all library users, diversity, intellectual freedom, lifelong learning, user privacy and confidentiality, and devotion to the public good.

The next time you are in the Library, take part in one of the vibrant activities going on. Join your fellow community members and Library staff in celebrating the many wonderful people who are drawn to your Library for its openness and commitment to the free and equal access to knowledge, information, and ideas.
