Crochet Club Summer Sampler

Learn the basics, practice stitches, fine tune your skills!

Thu Jun 25, 2026
4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Large Meeting Room

Have you always wanted to learn to crochet? Join the crochet club this summer to learn a range of techniques while making several sample squares. This fun program is for ages 12-adult.

Join librarians Birgitta (Makerspace) and Rebecca (Teen Department) to learn and practice several crochet stitches by making sampler squares each week this summer. You will end up with a collection of blocks that can be stitched together to make a scarf, throw blanket, tote bag, wall hanging, or other project of your choice. This program is for ages 12 to adult and all skill levels, especially beginners who will learn basic techniques like making a chain, reading a pattern, increase and decrease, crochet in the round, and fun stitches to make squares with a variety of patterns and colors.

Materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own supplies, tools and yarns.

We will use patterns and instructions from CreativeBug and other resources.

If you have intermediate or advanced crochet skills, you are welcome to join and lend a helping hand with beginners and newcomers.

Meetings will be held in the large conference room near the teen room at 4 pm on Thursdays during the summer, except for the week of Independence Day.
