One Book, One Coast: Virtual Author Talk with George Takei
Join George Takei for a virtual talk on his graphic memoir, They Called Us Enemy, reflecting on his childhood incarceration during WWII and its lasting impact on community, citizenship, and history.
One Book, One Coast closes this year’s reading program with a special, livestream author talk featuring George Takei. He’ll share the story behind They Called Us Enemy and his childhood experience in U.S. incarceration camps during World War II.
Takei will reflect on the lasting impact of this history today, what it means to be a good neighbor and citizen in the face of overwhelming challenges, and how shared books and stories build stronger communities.
This virtual event is streamed from LA County Library as part of the One Book, One Coast program.
