Teen Mental Health Workshop
Make Your Own Distraction Kit!
Teens, are you stressed out and buckling under the pressure of school, social media, friendship drama, jobs and college applications? Join our workshop to learn healthy and creative coping strategies!
Teens age 13 and up are invited to a peer-to-peer workshop and presentation by locals students from the Youth Stability and Support Alliance (YSSA).
The workshop consists of a presentation on adolescent mental health that addresses common stressors teens face, including academic pressure and athletic environments, and emphasizes the importance of seeking help, particularly in therapeutic contexts.
Evidence-based approaches such as Behavioral Activation and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy are introduced in an accessible way.
Following the presentation, participants engage in an inclusive, hands-on workshop creating distraction kits — a positive coping strategy designed to target the five senses. All materials will be provided.
Presenters include Mazalit Glaubach and other students. With Youth Stability and Support Alliance (YSSA), we have undertaken community work that extends beyond borders. Through workshops nationwide, collaborations, and research initiatives, we actively work to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. With a new chapter located in California, we aim to expand our reach and impact on a greater scale.
